Well this is it. My first semester at the Academy of Art is coming to a close. I have two more classes and BAM it's over. I have no idea what grades I have. Probably mostly C's and B's since the C's are almost expected from most students. (As I previously stated the teachers have very high standards so C's aren't considered at all bad).

Over the semester my works have procured "C" and "B" grades so I'm not really nervous about what my grades will be in the end.

My final review for my Analysis of Form class was a "B" and I just have to finish up a portrait (I chose to do Indiana Jones) for our Final project. So far it's within the "C" range so It's fine with me for now. My teacher is a pretty cool and nice guy so I may get like a "B-" or something close.

I have to put some finishing touches as well on a SELF portrait for Figure Drawing. My teacher here is also a pretty nice guy and he understood when I said I was also balancing two other final projects.

My photoshop class... PFFT! EEEEEEEEEEEEASYYYYYYYYYY AAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! It was almost a waste to show up. But It's good to see others works and get some new ideas and my teacher also gave us a lecture on getting a job. I won't get into it but I will say it was worth it. I know I got an "A" on my final, which was to compose a mythical figure in a mythical environment using photo reference. I'll post it up soon.

My Figure Modeling class I'm not so sure about. We had to make a model of an original character. I didn't want to waste time coming up with a new character so I just took pictures of my character Kyva [link] and said she was my character. My teacher also wanted us to base our character off someone REAL. So I based mine off the likeness of Angelina Jolie. I spent a majority of time on the face and It turned out pretty well. The hair was a nightmare, because every time I checked on it, it had dried up a bit more and the hair just popped off and I had to put a new one on. But it's done now and in line for the furnace. I should be able to get it back after our break and I'll post a picture of the bust I made soon.

Well it's almost the end of the first semester in college. Compared to High School there is maybe only 20% of the workload. But the homework does compensate by being very time consuming. Mid terms were about a month ago and I did fairly well in all my classes. Mostly C work which is fine since that is what pretty much what most teachers expect. A level work is basically professional level work. In my Analysis of Form class I manage to pull off a B on a charcoal drapery assignment. Now for my finals I have to get working on a Self portrait for Figure Drawing and a Still Life for Analysis of Form.

Well school aside, I recently purchased and beat the epic metal video game Brütal Legend. It was Brutal and it was definitely Legendary. I could play for endless hours just cruising and listening to the music. It has metal music of just about every genre, excluding all that modern pop, rap, hip hop crap that is so shamefully popular now. The games environments and enemies are cleverly detailed after different forms of metal too. I.E. one of the boss characters, General Lyonwhyte, is an obvious depiction of Hair Metal taken to the extreme. Just google his name in images and you'll know. Also there are gothic/emo enemies and some leather S&M type enemies.

On the whole it was an incredible game that is fun to play and is musically educating.

So far...

Things are flowing at a decent pace. I actually am learning more about proportions, anatomy, stature/poses, and so forth. The homework is pretty easy so far, just time consuming. But right now it feels like things are picking up slightly. The only bits to complain about are the fact that my arm muscles and back tend to hurt like a SoB after spending 3 straight hours in life drawing or 5 solid hours standing and modeling a figure out of clay.

School aside I just bought myself a small 22" HD TV and it looks and works great. Darks are a little muddy but that's fine since most of my games and movies are bright.

So far I'm still alive and I can't complain about that.

Well here I am, The Academy of Art University in San Francisco. The last place I thought my parents would let me go and it's the first.

Well I just moved in. Things are barely OK so far. I've gotten to know two of my three roommates (one still hasn't shown up). First day of class is on Thursday and til then I will still need to get used to living abroad, slightly.

The dorms aren't what I'd expected but I guess the returning students' dorms are better.

Getting a little nervous since getting to class will be a helluva lot different than before. Almost the whole cit is the campus. But the shuttle system takes you to every building so it shouldn't be too hard.

Wish me luck

OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well it's done. Those four little buggers are now gone. Why are we born with them if they are going to inevidebly cause problems in the future? Who knows.

Well the surgery part was heavenly. Novacane+Laughing Gas+a light tranquilizer=the ultimate sleep second to death.

I could still hear everything but felt nothing and wished that it would last forever. But it had to end sometime. All seemed well when I got home. Still no pain thanks to the novacane and some drowsyness. I managed to get another good 4 hours of sleep but then the anesthesia was wearing off and the pain became utterly unbearable within about another hour. I spent around an hour and a half writhing in agony until the prescription painkillers finally decided to settle in. It was like those movies that have one person alone convulsing and writhing in pain while facing inner demons or something. I now have an idea what they were going through.

Well I won't have a good meal for maybe the next 2 weeks and have to keep taking drugs so yay.
